Sustainable stationery, thoughtfully made for people and the planet.
Port West was founded in 2018 by Khalifa Abubakar and Shaun Ihejetoh. It is the result of their appreciation of well-made stationery and desire to make creative practice more sustainable. Together with local binders and makers they deliver beautifully crafted, thoughtfully considered and ethically-made stationery for artists, designers and writers alike.
The name Port West is a simple play on West Port. The location of Khalifa and Shaun's architectural workshops when they were students in Edinburgh.

Function, Beauty & Form, Sustainability
Port West's debut product, the A5/01 notebook was released in September 2019. It was a passion project borne from an interest in provenance and sustainability of paper products within the creative industries.
Their notebooks are a representation of the design values they hold important. These include Function (durable materials, lay-flat designs, practical features and guides), Beauty and Form (timeless aesthetics, subtlety, emotion and identity) and Sustainability (recycled materials, low-carbon footprints, transparent and accountable production and local manufacturing).
