Ethical Homewares and Gifts for Sustainable Living
QÄSA QÄSA stems from the Amharic (Ethiopian) word to mean inspire, awake, motivate. Taking inspiration from our heritage, we founded QÄSA QÄSA in 2015 and set off on a journey to explore the incredibly diverse skills of artisans in Eastern Africa.
We have partnered with exceptional artisans, non-governmental organisations, and community groups in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Malawi to design and source unique products that combine traditional skills with modern design.

Enhance your daily coffee making with our handcrafted scoop made from sustainably sourced African blackwood. Each one is exquisitely carved by Joseph in Mtwara, Tanzania and features a unique two-toned natural grain.
The organic texture and practical design will elevate even the simplest of tasks in your kitchen, and makes for the ultimate utensil for the coffee connoisseur.
Whilst it’s intended for scooping your favourite beans and freshly ground goodness, it's also great for scooping granola or chia seeds into your morning ritual.
The creation of each of these coffee scoops supports job creation and keeps the tradition of wood carving in Mtwara alive.
Made in Tanzania by The Makonde Wood Carvers
Material: African Blackwood
Please note although the wood is called African Blackwood, it can sometimes have beautiful light grains and sections running through it. We love the two tone look and hope you do too.
Size: 10cm length | 4.5cm scoop diameter
Care: Hand wash gently in lukewarm water and dry immediately. Do not put in the dishwasher or leave soaking in liquids. Use food safe mineral oil when required to retain the natural finish of the wood.
